Computer programmer analysts create and write programs for computer operation within an organization. They are responsible for the management and maintenance of programs they develop. Computer programmer analysts are familiar with computer hardware design, memory, and the inner workings of computers. Responsibilities include developing software programs for clients to create innovative solutions to help the operations of the company run, as well as develop programs that are tied directly to making the company money. This is the case with hedge funds and trading firms that rely on programmers to implement the strategies they have modeled to trade their portfolio (programmed trading). For social media firms, programmers help implement the programs that these firms use to make their advertising programs run and bring the revenues in.

Computer Programmer Job Description
Candidates for a Computer Programmer position frequently have some or all of the following credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related scientific or technical discipline
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience
- Experience working with SQL preferred
- Java Programmer, C#.Net, C++, Linux, Python or related languages
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
The salary range for this job is $65,000 to $150,000. Compensation and benefits are competitive and based on background and work experience.
